PrepMD Professionals, a subsidiary of PrepMD, is hiring / training Field Associates to work as medical device clinical specialists. As a PrepMD Professionals Field Associate you will work as part of our Contract Service Organization helping to meet the clinical support needs of one of our corporate partners. Upon completion of their PrepMD Professionals contract, 93% of our graduates are retained as direct employees.
What type of work do PrepMD Professionals do?
PrepMD Professionals Field Associates work as medical device specialists assisting in the implant, follow up and management of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDS) and electrophysiology procedures. In these medical device clinical specialist jobs PrepMD Professionals Field Associates serve as part of a team that is responsible for clinical support in the areas of surgical coverage, basic troubleshooting, programming, and patient follow-up for company products. In your Field Associate role you may also be called upon to provide education on the merits and proper clinical usage of products by giving presentations and demonstrations. While you are employed by PrepMD Professionals, you work directly with and take day to day direction from the organization or company that you are supporting.
What is a typical PrepMD Professionals Job Assignment?
Most PrepMD Professionals job assignments are for an initial 6 month period with the option to be extended or converted to a direct employee of the contracting client. During the contract period PrepMD Professionals work alongside team members from their contracting company. They are fully integrated into the team with which they work. They participate in product specific training and team meetings while reporting to the team manager.
Are all PrepMD Professional Field Associate Jobs with Companies?
No. PrepMD Professionals Field Associates have also worked in the healthcare setting managing and running device clinics for private healthcare providers.
How are PrepMD Professionals Compensated and Trained?
PrepMD Professionals provides the Field Associates:

The contracting company provides:
- vendor credentialing (as needed)
- additional business related travel expenses
- additional specialized product training support

How do I Qualify for Hire as a PrepMD Professionals Field Associate?
To qualify for a Field Associate position you must be validated as a trained candidate.
There are two qualification pathways for a job as a PrepMD Professional.
Option 1. You must have previous relevant cardiac rhythm management or E.P related medical device training and /or job experience which will be validated by PrepMD faculty. Validation includes a resume review, interview and completion of a formal skills assessment issued by PrepMD faculty. Upon review of the assessment candidates must then successfully complete any follow up / sustainment training recommended as a result of the assessment.

Field Associate, Delaware
This PrepMD Professional Field Associate is a Registered Nurse with previous experience working as a clinical representative for a major CRM device manufacturer as well as running a private practice device clinic. After reaching out to PrepMD to express her desire to re-enter the industry in a new geography, she underwent PrepMD’s Basic Skills Assessment for the CRM Professional and was directed into a refresher training program. While undergoing her training she was hired as a PrepMD Professionals Field Associate to work with a client who had increasing service demands but did not have approval for a direct hire. Upon completion of her 6 month field associate contract, she was converted into a direct employee where she continues to add value to her team on a daily basis.
Field Associate, West Virginia
This PrepMD Professional Field Associate was a recent Biomedical Engineer graduate who was striving to gain employment in the medical device industry. After applying to and enrolling in the PrepMD training program, she was subsequently hired by PrepMD Professionals. Field Associate, Kentucky
